Story of My Life, Part I: Music

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

It’s ice cold in here>_> No clue what to do right now either. I’ve done some cleaning around the house and I’m planning to maybe do some shoots for Easter pictures today. I don’t know of what yet, though. The weather outside has guaranteed that I won’t do any outside photograpy today either, at least. It rains a little bit, the sky is completely white, and the wind seems to make the trees into giant whips. It’s nice to look at from inside, but wouldn’t do on photos, I think.

So… What to talk about… I guess I could tell you a bit about myself:

For starters, I’ve experienced seventeen winters, and I’m quite tired of them. I’m the kind of person who stays away from most sports, especially things including running, jumping or skiing. I love swimming though, and volleyball is quite fun as a social activity. I’m an eleventh grader, which means I’m at the end of my first year at gymnasium, and have finally started realising that school isn’t the most important thing in this world. Despite this little realisation, I have great plans for further studies. My dream since I was ten is to become a psychologist.

Now to the music. When I was ten I also bought a guitar just because my cousin had gotten herself one quite cheaply, and I wanted to find a better deal (and I managed). I never bothered to learn to play it though, until in eight grade when guitar playing suddenly was part of the school’s pensum list. I took it quite seriously and made sure to get a  6 (best mark) on every guitar test. It also made me more interested in music and I started making my own songs. They’re quite amateurish, but I don’t know if I even can play them anymore anyway. I always forget to practice, so it hurts now. Half a year after I started playing the guitar, I bought myself an el-guitar, and I’m still working at decorating it with tons of stickers. Here are a few pictures of it:

The following summer I wanted a better acoustic guitar as well, so I bought a lovely one in England. That was two years ago.

Now I’ve only talked about me and my guitars. I totally left out the piano. When I was seven years I started taking piano lessons at my grandmother’s. We used an hour a week, and I also got a keyboard from my parents so I could practice every day. It didn’t go long before I went tired though, because I didn’t really manage to learn at the speed  I wanted to. Just so that I’ve mentioned it, though, I really appreciated the time I had with my grandmother back then. We had so much fun during the lessons! But well, when I was nine or so, I put away the piano playing for a while. Again, I returned to my piano pretty much because of school. I just loved the instrument when I started playing it again, and I’ve done so since. Last Christmas I bought myself a new stage piano (Korg SP-200), which is the best electric piano I’ve ever played on. It almost feels real! I’m still not too good at the piano though, but I’m practicing and it will probably focus on that as my main instrument in the future.

So that’s the music. I’ll try and record some stuff soon and upload it too the new website I’ll hopefully make soon (Yeah, that’s a lot of stuff to do, so you will probably have to wait for quite a while ^^).

What about webdesign? And photography? And writing? I’ll give you those and probably more stories another time!
