South Africa!

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

It’s all set now, I’m going to South Africa during Easter! I am so excited!!!

I have my tickets in my email inbox, and am ready to go at any time! I leave from Sola at 6:45 in the morning on Sunday 28th of March and arrive in South Africa 15h later. Geez, that’s a long time! We’ll go via Amsterdam, and the plane from there to Johannesburg will take 11h! Fortunately the plane looks quite comfortable so I think I will manage.

We went to a vaccination office yesterday, and seems I only have to be vaccinated against hepatitis A/B, as I have the rest already :D So that was one shot yesterday, and another one in a month.

I have never in my life been outside Europe before, so this is really exciting for me. I’ve always loved travelling and my big dream has been to go to Africa or Asia and now it’s finally coming true!

So why South Africa? My aunt, uncle and cousin live there now, and after a lot of thinking we finally decided to visit them! It’s going to be really nice as we in general don’t see them too often. I haven’t seen uncle Didier in.. I don’t know how long really.. Can’t remember last time I met him! My cousin Natalie was, as I have mentioned earlier, here for Christmas, which was really fun too :)

We don’t really know much of what we’re going to do there just yet. At least we’re staying for two weeks, and for 3-4 days of that time we will go on a safari. I’m gonna see lions.. LIONS! :D:D:D I’ll probably see most of the safari through the lens of my camera, but I’ll try not to be too crazy. ;)

Anyway, hope you’re all well!

Cheers,

Juno

I love my Casp <3

I got a present from my boyfriend today, for no reason at all. He’s so cute <3 The gift was extremely cute too:

love

Scrat and his girl from the movie Ice Age 3D: Dawn of the Dinosaurs!

Here’s how the lovely couple met:

Caspar and I went to see the Ice Age 3D in the movies in Zürich this summer and I absolutely loved the movie. I thought it would be terrible, as it is the third movie of the series, but the 3D did it’s work and had Scrat, Sid, Manny and all the others surprise me again!

I’ve also gotten a huuuuuuuuuge Sid toy pet, but it’s currently still in Zürich with Caspar =)

Thank you so much honey! Love you <3

Christmas

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Christmas has pretty much passed now and I’m finally writing a new blog entry. I haven’t updated since the beginning of December. I’m just getting worse and worse at updating it seems ^^

My cousin, Nathalie, was here this month to experience a Norwegian Christmas. It was really nice having her here :) We did some fun stuff together, played games, made a ginger bread house, went shopping and made the worlds coolest snowlady, called Iselilja :D Yeah, we actually got a white Christmas this year. I’ve never had such perfect Christmas weather in Christmas before!

We made ginger bread biscuits before she came though, and that was also a lot of fun. I’ll just upload some pics instead of writing too much, so here you go:

So now I’m just looking forward to New Year’s Eve, because that’s when my boyfriend, Caspar comes to visit me. He’ll stay for a few days so most likely  no blogging then ;)

I’ll make it one of my New Year resolutions to blog more frequently and I really hope I haven’t lost all my readers because of my absence! Merry Christmas to you all, and the best in the New Year!

December <3

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Ok so it’s December and Advent! You gotta love it ;) Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean that I have less to do just yet, so I’m still too busy to update my blog frequently. I hope to get some more time to get back into the blogging business during the Holidays though!

We’ve had some advent decorations up for more than a week now, and it’s really nice. I got this really cute Advent calendar of my mother this year! It has some really nice quality chocolate as well, with marzipan and stuff. Nothing for children, really, but just the kind of stuff I like ^^ Today I got a dark chocolate one with nougat and marzipan inside and a almond on the top :D Tasted great. Here’s a snapshot of the calendar:

My cousin, Nathalie, is coming to stay with us for Christmas btw! It’s gonna be really nice :) We haven’t seen her for a year now, and I don’t think she remembers a single Norwegian Christmas, so it will be fun to have her join all our yearly traditions!

But I really need some sleep now. I need A LOT of sleep these days. No clue why. Probably just the winter season sneaking up on me and making me so tired all the time.

I’ll tell you about all my Christmas traditions some other day! In the meantime, why don’t you tell me about yours?

Tina

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

My boyfriend had a picture of Tina. Again he saves my day.

I myself haven’t taken a picture of her since she was three years old. I’m so happy to have this little picture to remember her by now. I have one of her and Lisa in my wallet as well, I think it’s from when they were about one year old.

Anwyay, here’s the picture my boyfriend took :)

You’ll always be in my heart, Tina (:

Stopping by to say Hi :)

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

So here’s a small entry just to tell people I’m alive. :)

I’ve been quite busy the last weeks, and when I’ve had time to write here, I’ve honestly felt far too lazy.

It’s November, the busiest month of the year, in Amnesty, in writing (NaNoWriMo, which I gave up after three days), and somehow school ends up feeling busy as well thanks to all the other things. It’s fine though, I like being busy.

So since the last time I’ve been to Switzerland and Oslo, I’ve had a lot of homework and campaigned for the people and environment of the Niger Delta.

I’m planning maybe to start a vlog instead of continuing the blog, just to try out something new. I’ll see if I ever get around with it. :) It would be a nice challenge though!

Well, I’ll try to tell you a bit of what’s up soon enough :) Please be patient and stop by now and then to see if there’s anything new, or you can follow my RSS.

Holidays :D

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Today was the last day of school before the one week long fall break, so I finally have some time to write in my blog again! :D

The previous weeks have been quite busy, but ok anyway. School has taken up most of my time and Amnesty the rest. I really enjoy it though. I have a lot to do and time just runs past. Tomorrow I’m leaving for Switzerland to visit my boyfriend! It’s been a few months now, and I really miss him. Gonna be nice to see both him and his family again!

When it comes to more creative projects, I haven’t had much time lately. I’ve started crocheting again for CAS and I’ll hopefully do some photography again soon as well. We made a commercial video in English class,  but I haven’t asked the others if I could upload it, so I won’t. :)

Well this is just a short entry because I don’t know what to write about ^^ Hope you all are well, and have a great fall break, those of you who do!

My Holidays

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

I’m finally back from holidays now, and starting to get used to being home again. To be honest, I miss Switzerland and my dear Casp a lot already, but I am happy we got as much time as we did together this summer.

So, a (long) little report:

We flew to England in quite beautiful weather, and were lucky to enjoy a lot of sun while we were there. It took us a couple of days before we found me a Nikon D40 at the Argos store in Carlisle. The last one they had in stock! Lucky :D After that I didn’t really do much else than taking pictures, while we were in England. I took quite a lot of insect pictures in the garden, because the bumblebees and bees were really slow and lazy. I also tried to do some landscape photography, but didn’t really succeed.

Here are some English bumblebees, bees and hover flies for ya!

We also went to an abbey we’d never been to before, but I can’t recall it’s name. Here’s a picture of what once was its tower:

And here’s a cute lamb from a field next to the abbey :D

Lamn

Except from that we didn’t really do much out of the ordinary. We met up with our friends over there and also had our yearly trip to the “ice cream farm”, Abbott Lodge, who make the best ice cream ever! It is fresh out of dairy milk from their own cows! Here’s a cute little calf from Abbot Lodge:

After one week in England, we were going to fly to our next destination: Sardinia.

I have to say I expected a lot when I was going there. I mean, it’s Italy. I wanted good food, great scenery, and a lot of fast-talking Italians. Everything was up to my expectations, except from one thing: the food. Wherever we went, the food was pretty tasteless. The only thing I really liked on the island was pizza from a pizzeria near our apartment. But when that’s said, everything else was just perfect. We had the perfect view from our apartment, pretty much the perfect apartment too. It was big, clean, great air-conditioning and a huge outdoor area in the front with nice outdoor couches and chairs.

I forgot to take too many pictures, but at least I have some of my very colourful bedroom and bathroom:

We did a lot on Sardinia, travelled to see different places, but in the end I didn’t take too many pictures because I was filming with the camcorder all the time. I regret that now, of course. What I did photograph on Sardinia too, was insects. Always insects. Yesyesyes.

Here are some of them:

So yeah, that’s what occupied my time on Sardinia! :D

After another week, I was going to part with my parents and go to Lugano, Switzerland to meet my boyfriend. It was really strange, because I have never been away from Mom for more than one week before, and now I would be away for almost a month. We said goodbye at Olbia airport and I boarded a tiny plane going to Lugano. It was only two seats on one side and one on the other. I have never been in such a small airplane before, and it felt a bit uncomfortable. The service was great, though, and the flight was quite comfortable as soon as we were in the air.

When I landed in Lugano, the weather was beautiful and boiling hot. It was wonderful to meet my dear Caspar again, as we hadn’t seen each other in a couple of months. He had borrowed his mother’s car, a cabriolet, so we could enjoy the fresh air while driving back to Zürich (the drive is about three hours). And the car has the coolest colour ever: green! :D

sommer09 (1241 of 1872)

I won’t write detailed about what we did every day for three weeks and three days, but I’ll give you a brief summary: First week we spent a lot of time with Caspar’s friends and family. They are all very nice people and I enjoyed spending time with them, but the next two weeks we tried to keep a little bit more to ourselves because we do not have much time together during the year. There was a lot of bad weather as well, so we stayed home many days and played xbox. We played Army of Two, Gears of War, Fable II, Prototype and a few other games.

To mention a few thigns we did: We visited Montreux for the jazz-festival (even though we went to a hip-hop concert instead), we crashed with the German border trying to get to a really nice waterfall and we went to Alpamare, a water fun park with a lot of fun slides and so on. We also were to town a few times, enjoying the cute streets of old Zürich most of the time.

sommer09 (1524 of 1872) sommer09 (1289 of 1872) sommer09 (1672 of 1872)

We went to the cinema twice; once to watch Ice Age 3D (in german :S) and the next time we watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It was really nice, especially on Harry Potter when we had luxury seats (more like a big nice couch) :D

Except from that we just tried to relax as much as possible, because that’s what one’s supposed to do when it’s holidays. Three weeks and three days went far too fast in the end and now I’m suddenly sitting here in my room again. I already miss my love a lot, I’ve even started missing Switzerland a bit, but I guess it is nice to be back home too.

The lemon-man of Zürich hopes you had a lovely summer!

Time to visit the beautiful fields of England again

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Today I’ve used most of my day cleaning and packing, ‘cause you know what? I’m leaving tomorrow morning! :D:D:D I’m really looking forward to going back to England now. I really miss the place. And after a week we’ll go to Italy, and after another week it’s Switzerland to meet my boyfriend for three weeks :D

This means that I won’t be here too much, though. The first two weeks I won’t have internet connection at all, and the next three I probably won’t use much time on the computer anyway. I’m not even brining my big laptop, only my small Asus laptop. It’s so nice for holidays. So tiny and fine for general use. No photoshopping or similar things, though. The performance isn’t too good.

Now I’m trying to decide if I should take a huge bag instead of a suitcase to get more space, because I won’t be able to shop anything if I use the suitcase.

Anyway, except from that: I’m sorry for only writing about Iran and nothing else in the two last posts. It’s just that it’s occupied all my thoughts the last few days. The government’s reaction to the demonstrations scares me.

Actually a lot has happened the last couple of days. On Tuesday evening my classmates and I had a BBQ by a beach as a “farewell”-thing. It was really nice, and we didn’t really have to say goodbye yet either, because we would see each other again on Wednesday.

So yes, why did we see each other again after the good bye party? My class participated in a contest called “Energidetektiven”, and won a trip to some nearby island to learn about “Statkraft”, a company who works with renewable energy, and “Norsk Stein” which is a stone-crushing plant, and they’re expanding the plant into becoming the biggest in the whole world now. It was a really fun trip, lasting from 7:00 in the morning until 16:35, and we all enjoyed ourselves on our last day as a class.

After parting with the class, I met some other friends and went to the cinema to watch Terminator 3. Honestly, I don’t like such movies, but it was well made anyway. :P

Anyway, enough writing from me. Have a wonderful summer everyone!

Trying to Enjoy Life

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

There was no school today. Tomorrow is the last day I’ll go to school this season, maybe. I’ll only go to school to find out if I’m going to have an oral exam or not. If I don’t, it’s holidays. Which sounds wonderful, unbelievable actually.

Right now I’m trying to enjoy life, but I can’t really remember what that means, so I’m really just doing what I always do when I’m too tired to do what I’m supposed to: Watch a stupid movie, surf the net, and try to find out what’s the most important thing to do, or in this case; what I want to do.

On the to-do list is:

- Organizing all my old school papers

- Cleaning the windows I haven’t cleaned yet

- Making a movie about my dad, uncle and two other guys’ trip to the Orkney Islands

- Editing all the pictures I haven’t finished editing yet from the past month

- Finishing the piano song I just started making

- Tidying a bit- this place is a mess

- Reinstalling Cubase, because it suddenly claims my license is wrong

- Reading one of the 30 books waiting for me in my book shelves

- Designing a website design I’m actually pleased with (and capable of finishing)

- Blogging (and as you’ve probably noticed, that’s what I’m doing ^^)

Probably quite some other things to do, but I’ll stick to that list of choices for now.

But still, what am I doing? Watching Diminished Capacity and.. yeah well, at least I’m blogging.

I think maybe I should plan what to pack next week soon. I’m leaving in 8 days :D:D:D It’s going to be wonderful to see England again enjoy the countryside of Cumbria, the banks of River Eden… Drinking English Tea with English water (I’d never drink the water like it is, because it tastes horrible compared to the water here in Norway, but it gives this special taste to the tea that I really like :D). Play Scrabble long past midnight…

I’m really looking forward to go to Italy as well. We’ll go from Manchester Airport directly to Sardinia (an island outside Italy) a week after we arrived in England. We always go somewhere else for one week. Italy is new, though. We usually go to France. Something else that’s new, is that I won’t go back to England with my parents. Instead I’ll take a plane from Sardinia to Lugano, Switzerland, where my Swiss boyfriend will pick me up :D We’re going to have three wonderful weeks together this summer, which is more time than we’ve ever had together before. Usually we only get to meet for like eight days. Last time we only had five. Hopefully we’ll get to travel around a bit, and see more of Switzerland too. It’s all gonna be a real nice, but different (compared to the usual “four weeks with my parents in England and France”), holiday to me.

Anyway, I’ve used like an hour writing this, and now even my movie is finished. The length of it tells me I should stop as well. Probably write more as soon as I get something interesting done xD

Oh, and btw: Just read “The Beginning of the End” by Dean Koontz, which actually was a quite good book. Unfortunately, I read it in Norwegian, and the translation was terrible. The essence of the book was still the same though, so I suggest that you lot read it (if you like books with lotsa details and an actual meaning) :D

Oh, and another btw: I’m going to a Muse concert in Oslo in October with friends!! :D That’s just gonna be great! *adds a Muse song to the*

Cheers!

- Juno =)
